My Gardening Books sells digital editions of historical gardening works for reading, research, and appreciation of garden history. These works were written in earlier periods and are not current gardening manuals.
Outdated recommendations
Plant varieties, climate descriptions, seasonal timing, terminology, tools, and cultivation methods can differ from modern practice and from your location. Historical books may describe pesticides, chemical treatments, food-preservation methods, or uses of plants that are no longer recommended or considered safe.
Health, safety, and pesticide information
Do not use historical material as medical advice, pesticide directions, food-safety instruction, or a substitute for current product labels. Never apply a pesticide or other regulated product based only on an old book. Follow current label directions and consult qualified professionals or local agricultural-extension services for present-day questions.
Geographic context
Historical references may describe regions, climates, and growing conditions that do not match your garden. Verify planting decisions with current, location-specific guidance.
